When and how to treat your bees
The main varroa treatment happens right after the last honey harvest — strips stay in the hive for 6–8 weeks to cover several brood cycles. In winter, when the colony is broodless, an oxalic acid treatment is the most effective. Rotate active substances from year to year so the mites cannot develop resistance, and always read the product instructions before use.
