Wax presses — manual and hydraulic presses for squeezing wax out of melted comb residue.

When old combs are melted, part of the wax stays trapped in the residue (slumgum) — a wax press recovers it too. The hot comb mass is wrapped in cloth and pressed: clean wax flows out, dry residue goes to waste. With a press you recover 15–25% more wax from the same raw material than by melting alone.
