How does a pollen trap work?

A pollen trap mounts at the hive entrance: as the bees squeeze through the trap grid, they drop part of their pollen loads into a collection drawer. Keep the trap active for no more than a few days at a time so the colony doesn't run short of protein. Collected pollen must be dried the same day — you'll find pollen dryers in the pollen processing category.
