Finnish HoneyPAW hives are characterized by durability and warmth. Excellent thermal insulation allows bees to live in comfortable conditions in the hive both in winter and in summer.

The set includes:

  • Bottom with ventilation

  • 1 Dadant Blatt brood box

  • 2 Dadant Blatt honey supers

  • Roof

Brood box:

Dadant Blatt hive body for frames 470 × 300 mm (435 × 300 mm)

„Honey Paw“ hives made of expanded polystyrene (EPS) have a density of more than 100 kg/m³. They provide very good thermal insulation, creating better wintering conditions for the bees. Holds 10 frames (Hoffman type).

Dimensions:
– Internal dimensions: 470 × 370 mm
– External dimensions: 544 × 452 mm
– Body height: 310 mm
– Wall thickness: 40 mm
– Weight: 1,60 kg

Honey supers:

The 1/2 Dadant body is most commonly used as a honey super in Dadant-type hives.

Body height – 155 mm, 145 mm high frames are used.

Roof:

A multifunctional hive roof adapted to a dynamic and changing climate – helps keep the hive warm, especially during wintering, and when flipped over provides ventilation.

The „Honey Paw“ hive roof is 45 mm thick in the middle, ensuring excellent thermal insulation under any conditions. The roof has protruding edges that additionally protect the hive from adverse weather.

If it is necessary to reduce the temperature in the hive, the roof can be flipped – this creates a ventilation channel for warm air to escape.

Bottom:

„Honey Paw“ hive bottom with plastic mesh. The bottom is the same size as „Honey Paw“ bodies.

A bottom with mesh should be set slightly raised from the ground, for example on a wooden pallet, so that there remains an open space directly under the hive bottom. If necessary, the bottom opening can be closed with a separate closing plate. It is recommended to close the hive entrance only when transporting the hive or splitting a bee colony.

Attention: products are delivered twice a year, in May and June. After receiving an order, if we have it in stock, it can be collected immediately, otherwise you will need to wait.
